Before (pics of net as I forgot to take any!) mine had been dropped, so plastics where fecked!) The last pic is more the state mine was in, un-loved! But now after alot of work (plastic welding, filling, flatting ect...) Engine is standard at the moment, but I've just discovered a water leak!
And now I've just got a bit of black leather to recover the seat!......one of the wifes old leather skirts! Lol! But will look smart! (it did on the mrs!) Anyone know what sort of glue I can use?
Hi surferdude. Nice looking bike, like the stealth black look. Contact adhesive should be just the ticket for sticking leather, it would probably need tucking up under the edge of the seat all the way round and fastening with either a staple gun or of the seat is thick enough drawing pins also work really well. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/97225...-Adhesives/No-Nonsense-Contact-Adhesive-500ml
I know exactly where your coming from with that one, its good to have a few projects on the go gives you something to day dream about. When I did mine it really didn't take long at all, in fact I took the seat off and did it in front of the tv. Took about half hour and that was doing it twice when the first attempt didnt work out. Mind you I didn't use glue on mine so it might not be such a good idea doing yours inside. Looks like your seat would be pretty easy to do a good job on, no sharp curves to pull the material round. When fixing it with the staples put them in key places first until your happy with the fit then add loads more. They are pretty hard to remove once they are in.
other project! bit bigger than the scoot! Since this pic it's had a body lift and suspension lift, and off road tyres fitted. Now stands 6 inches taller, Modded turbo and exhaust. I'll post pics when I've done the seat!
I've been looking at suspension risers for the rear, I know they lift the rear up (obviously! Lol) but do they affect the handling???
Black and White with silver metalflake! Mmm.....flake!..... It's a duchinni d419, can't beleave there so cheap! £35 !!!!! Free delivery too!
She only passed!!!! 3 advisorys 1) steering bearings slight play (just need a tweek up) 2) coolant leak (water pump repair kit) 3) central swing arm / engine mount slight play (saving for spare/tuned motor anyway so do them then) Had to laugh when he tested the horn! Nearly flew off the ramp when the air horns went! Lol So plenty to be getting on with. But least she's road legal now!!!
So, today I flushed the cooling system, the water was a horrible Ginger colour! Soooo much rust! I don't think it's ever been chainged! I was gonna remove the thermostat too, but can't see a housing on the thing!? Am I being daft? Or is it inside the cylinder head? Help please!
