hi Bit back story Original exhaust got hole in, so got q-tre exhaust it ran week Scooter just died on me one morning, took it to guy who is a1 at fixing motorbikes! He said crank had snapped! So bought copy crank, fitted it It started to go slower up hill He suggested putting bigger rollers in, new variations, and belt. Did this great, 2 week later exhaust Came away from bracket, sent it back got new one under warranty. Fitted this exactly same thing happened again! What the hell as happened? Is it getting to hot? Is it vibrating too much? What can I do ? I’ve got 2015 bike that now become sh... Not mechanical at all and already spent £600 parts & labour on top of £2200 I paid for it brand new in 2015
The guy who it’s now gone to as a Vespa scooter shop, he’s been doing scooters for 30+ years. So surely he should know what he’s doing The bracket weld came away
Thats a construction fail. Poor quality control. I thought it was where it mounted to the bike it broke. These days so many bike parts are made cheap
Welds breaking on the Technigas Q-Tre exhausts is very common. I had one blow a hole straight through it with one month, around the welded area. When you went from the original to the aftermarket exhaust, did the mechanic up-jet the carb to match the pipe? Would explain the slowness.
Hi Thanks for replying Yer he did the jetting. Just got to decide now what exhaust to get now! This experience as put me of scooters for long time,I’m not mechanical minded
The bracket can be welded again, not a major problem. It's a minor inconvenience although I understand your frustration with it. The problem, as scubabiker said, is in the cheap construction of it.
That’s cheaper than the molossi wild lion? Cheap just puts me off Guy who’s fitting it recommended wild lion. Need to get one ordered today for sr50r Aprilia
idk if cheap works it works the guy fitting it will want the easiest job or know u can pay more probs still if u want to spend more or want a non-stock look, guess it's good
This is what happened to the q-tre Exhaust on way to scoot shop to have new exhaust put on. 2 week old and 2nd one! Bag of sh..
Yup. The Q-Tre has really gone downhill the last 2 or 3 years, hence why they are so cheap now. And the "chrome" is so thin it's a joke. They rust like hell inside of 6 months. Better to stick with the self colour ones, you can just wallop it over with high temp black spray whenever it needs it.
