Hi, about 2 weeks ago I purchased an aprilia sr50.
I passed my CBT on sunday so I took it out for a ride, after about 20 mins it started bogging down and when I throttled it wouldn't give any power, it then cut out. I kept starting it with the same problem when eventually it cut out again and now it wont start.
Since then i've taken the spark plug out and check the spark and its fine, the engine seemed flooded so I left it overnight to drain and it hasn't made a difference it still wont start.
Any suggestions as I'm heartbroken and was planning to ride all week.

    Compression?
Sure it's got fuel in it?

Yeah it's full with fuel and 2t oil.
    How do I check compression?

    With a compression tester.
Try a brand new spark plug first though

The sparkplug seems fine at the moment, getting a perfect spark.
Maybe a carb problem, would cleaning it help?

    Maybe.
Try a new plug though. Sometimes they don't spark under load

Check for false air if none then its just filled with fuel. Just kick the kickstarter around 8-10times without ignition on then turn ignition on and start it with kickstarter again not with starter. When it bogs down it either drowns in fuel or it doesnt have any fuel at all depending on the sound u can tell what it is.

I've tried using the kickstarter without ignition then with ignition to get it started but still nothing

It runs now, replaced spark plug and cleaned carb, however makes a sort of loud screeching noise whilst riding, been suggested to me that it’s crankshaft bearing, is it a hard job to replace?

For an experienced mechanic a few hours, for a total novice a weekend or so.
