    Morning all,

Im a newbie and havent got any clue about bikes if im honest. So any help will be appreciated. Im not wanting to spend too much on this bike as its already scratched and not the best quality looking.

I would need clear instructions on how to do things if anything can be done [IMG]

Basically when I start my bike any time throughout the day, it will do the following:

    - Start up on the bike is very slow, travel about 0-5 mph, jumping start. (sorry cant explain it very well)
    - It will ride normally for about 5 seconds then proceed to lack power, it will feel like there is no power in bike (full throttle) and will go no more then 5mph
    - I probably travel around 15 metres or so "with no power" and the power resumes and runs fine on flat ground if there is any incline whatsoever the bike will slow down (think bogging is the term), just very jittery.
    - Never feels smooth. The problem is ive taken it to 3 garages now and they all say there is nothing wrong with it. But it is clear there is, even more so when going uphill/incline.

    Aprilia SR 50cc

    Thanks in advance guys. [IMG]

    Kind regards

Take it to a Scooter workshop, a place where they only work on scooters and know how should work/ride.

Thanks for the reply. Didn’t explain it all that great but the 3 garages I went too all only specialised in scooters.

I would guess that there are one of two problems here.
Either, the carb needs jetting properly to the exhaust ( the possible problem here is either too much fuel not enough air or vice versa, until the bike gets up to speed then it compensates)
or, the rollers are stuck on the ramps keeping the "gears" in high ratio ( the belt is not going all the way back down the variator or clutch faces)
Given that you have problems with hills, I would attack the rollers first. They probably have huge flat spots on them and are too heavy.
