Ok, so I've never had a Scooter in the 16yrs I've been able to ride one, and now I have 2 in the space of a month lol.

My mate had this SR 125, I asked him ages ago if he wanted to sell and he kept saying no, he left my work about a yr ago and it was still parked up un loved so got hold of him and his reply was... "Just take it, i've no use for it and have no way of coming to get it" Result!!!

    A Free SR125!!

Its gonna be a bare frame rebuild as its been sat for probably 18months to 2 yrs and will need everything checking, and as I'm new to the scooter seen my little MBK Booster will ween me nicely into the SR!

Well been quite busy off late with my Car(broken gear selector cable), my Daily Hack Yamaha CW50 (Exhaust, Rollers, carb jetting etc...) But finally got some time today on the SR.

Started stripping it down sorting out what new parts it needs etc..gonna replace all the rubbers/mounts as sitting around for 2yrs has taken its toll, needs a few panel repairs and new bits, carb /inlet is a bit fooked along with some of the pipes. So more bits came off....then more (u know what its like!) then I decided the flakey/rusty frame was a bit un-sightly

    Part stripped..

Ready for paint (Luckily I had a new tin of Smooth Silver Hammerite in my garage)

Then the bloody rain came! Luckily I'd only done a small amount on the back end, so grabbed the nearest thing to cover it up (A BBQ Cover lol) and headed for cover for the rest of the day.

    To Be Continued...........................

Finished most of the frame painting today, gave the front wheel a good scrub n polish then went for a blue rim stripe, think it'll work well against the black body work.

been sat looking at it as a bare frame with the wheel on and its given me an idea for a future project...i'm gonna get the grinder and welder out n have a crack at a naked Ped ) Has this been done much before?

hmm naked ped sounds a good idea but most naked peds have cables through the frame thats the tricky part :) would look good though , if you gonna make it a naked ped get a bar convertion

Yeah I'll be doing a bar conversion.

As for cables through the frame...I spend most of my working days doing wiring Mod's to RAF Tornado's so I'm used to getting wires into places that seem imposible :)

I'll maybe buy a bare frame for ebay and give it a bash after I've finished this one.

Ok well I can't wait for this to be done then start NAKED project, so after much thought i'm gonna go for it!...after all I have nothing to lose really, the bike was FREE after all :)

So Project Naked SR is go!

Got lots of grinding and smoothing to do, already sourced some foot pegs (my lads fat stunt pegs off his BMX) he won't mind haha.

Then once I've mocked it all up and know what brackets need to be made etc..I'll get it shot balst and powder coted satin black.

    Watch this space!

Managed to get a bit doen today..well some "mocking" up anyway.

Got some mad ideas up my sleeve, first being the seat design. The base will be a skateboard(minus the wheels) grabbed my lads one to offer it up and fits like a glove :) It will also act as a rear mud guard. First pic is how low I'd like it, second pic it rougly how low it will be.

Bars and bar bits are all sorted, just need to find a nice front light.

Right...fuel tank??? Any ideas? Might have to get one made, but not sure where it will fit!!!

Seating position will be a the very back of the skateboard...up against the rear frame. Foot pegs will be where that bracket is just behind the front wheel.

Er you do realise it pretty much will never be able to go through an MOT? There's a reason they have panels on them!

For what reason do they have panels on them?

I can't see anywhere on the MOT test where it would fail? "Body and Structure" it would come under, nothing there states it should be fitted with panels, there will be no sharp edges etc.

you could mount some sort of motorbike tank inbetween the bars and the seat

Yeah was thinking that, but it'll need to be quite small and not look out of place.

I'm watching a few on ebay.
