Hi people, could do with some help lol, I have an Aprilia sr50 Spain’s no1 just had a new 50 barrel and piston about 400 miles ago so should be all worn in as I’ve been told. I’m running it with a new leo Vince tt pipe and it just seems not to be booting as it did before the rebuild like it doesn’t boot at all, I had 3g Malossi rollers and it was really slow on take off and took ages to get past 30mph so then I changed the rollers to 5g and changed the clutch springs and it’s still not booting as it should, it just feels sluggish and it’s topping out at about 46mph and takes quite a while to even get there. Any help ?

I think the rollers should be 7grams...

Make sure the exhaust is 100% de-restricted - in the end can and on the cylinder side

Yeah it can make a massive difference between 5 and 7g, my last build started with 7g and the bike didn't want to move so I went down to 5.5 and it was like a different bike

I have 5.5 in mine now but it’s just not seeming like it wants to boot like it used to before it used to top out at about 56mph and get to top end fast but I’m just not sure what’s up with it

Does it have a rev counter? Revs might not be sitting in the power band of the new pipe

Yeah 5.5 in a race 70cc, in the 50cc we have 7.5g is what I meant

Would a racing clutch make much difference? If I got 7g rollers surely it wouldn’t be taht good on acceleration but would it be better if I got a racing clutch ?

Standard 50cc? You just want a standard clutch. softer the springs the quicker to pull away

Yeah it’s a 50 and I did order some the other day actually and they came with 3 sets and I put the softest ones in and it’s still taking ages to accelerate this is why I’m so confused to why it’s not booting aha

It did when I had the stiffest springs in then I put the softest ones in and it was abit better and doesn’t seem to be revvin like it was

You need a standard clutch I’d say for a start
And has it got a Malossi multivar or original set up?
