Aprilia Sr 172 Project As much help needed as possible Thanks

    1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg Let me give you some info baught the bike Seems ok needs alot of work tho. but im kinda new to all of this and dont understand half of it but hope for some help!

    Guy SAID he done this ___

    Brand new 172 malossi racing head and piston cost £280
    kundo rapid exhausts
    brand new malossi rolls
    brand new polini air filter
    brand new p.m tuning air filter
    brand new malossi transmission
    brand new reeds
    brand new back tire

    To be honest not sure if all of this was actually done i know for a fact the 172 kit is on there as i have the old standard 1 in a box,

    Other day i was going along say about 60 then bike cut out when i collected the bike the guy said i had to pre mix it but i forgot the amount i was supose to use and i filled the OIL tank up aswell cause i thought he was just chattin shit so to be safe i added a few caps full straight into the tank ( proberly stupid ) later to blow a spark plug and be stuck 15 miles away from home lol anyway took it back filled it back up with petrol gave it a shake changed spark plug worked fine so i am guessing i do need to pre mix or summut ? Any1 Shine a light on this ?

    When the bike starts makes a wierd squeeking noise whilst idle and moving ?
    Also can any help me with engine mount/bushes ? rattle like a bi*ch defintly need some new ones!! I will uploads some pics Thanks if any1 can help 1.jpg 2.jpg

    Squeel could be the round bit of metal that the variator sits on needing a bit of grease. Engine bushes are insanely complicated on sr's so sorry I can't help there.

    If you are going to ask questions within your project it would be better if you could update the first post as you go as otherwise all the updates will get lost.

    I'd get the air cover for cylinder first . Maybe even check for heat seizures.

    open the case and find out what the squeel is yourself , it's a bit hard to explain in writing because untill you see it or hear it or watever you aint going to know.

    if youre sure the engine mounts are shite then replace the lot in one go and not just the ones damaged. They aren't as bad as people make out :rolleyes:, i find them easy if you turn the bike upside down , the the panels off first though . There are a couple bearings , bushes and silent blocks thats it. There are diagrams online if you look hard enough.
