Hi all am wondering if you may be able to advise me?. I have decided to put my Aprilia SR125 back on the road after it being covered in the garage for the last 9 years.
i seem to have a fuel problem, if you open the throttle fully from low speed it try's to stall. So you have to back off the throttle until the revs build up then you can open her up,then the power kicks in like a power band, all the way up to full speed.

I have changed the spark plug, stripped and cleaned the carb, fitted new drive belt, oil belt and rollers,
    Changed the gear box oil.
    changed brake fluid.
    New battery.

Had the fuel tank out and changed the fuel filter just in case.
When i stripped down the carb it was very dirty, I didn't change the gaskets as they all seem ok.
The carb is a Dellorto phvb 20.5

Could you kindly give your thought as to what it may be?
    Many thanks
    Tony

i haven't had a look at the reeds, didn't think about them. will have a look tomorrow.I haven't checked the air filter  .
also the intake rubber seems fine, i was wondering if i should buy a new gasket set for the carb and give it another clean and replace gaskets.
I was also wondering about the vacuum fuel tap as the tank has stored dry.
