I bought myself an aprilia area 51 to fix up with my son, however, I need a silent block for the bike as the one on it is perished and after scouring the internet and sending many messages to eBay sellers I can't find one. The original part is discontinued. Does anybody know if another bike uses the same size block that I would be able to use? It is the only part I cannot find anywhere. Any help is massively appreciated
The area 51 is ancient and very rare in scooter terms, put a picture up of the silent block that you need.
I was convinced to buy it by a friend who has one already. I knew it was old and should of probably done a bit of research before buying it but it was cheap, and thought it would be a nice little project to do with my son... Anyway... This is the silent block I need. As I say it's literally the only part that I can't get hold of
As you say, impossible to find nowdays, could you use a car silent block ? I have a Piaggio skipper that uses a small block and when that fails I'll cut frame out and fit later typhoon/ runner block. all depends what you want to spend but you could replace it ? remember it's old and rare but not worth a lot of money.
