aprilia 2008 SR50R running issues (video)

Hi All,

I've recently bought a 2008 SR50R ped for my boy to run around on but it has a issue with running..

Bit of history on it.. bought as a running project that I've stripped, cleaned, repaired and replaced the broken plastics. Cleaned it all up and its looking half decent now.

It starts first kick pretty much and off the button no problem but when it runs it will rev.die.rev.die.rev.die when held at full throttle (see video link if it works !)


in the first half of the vid it will rev partly and then choke and almost die and from 45 seconds its on full throttle but its rev.die.rev.die...

It has had a 70cc stage6 kit fitted with a Viper sports exhaust.. it did have a 64 jet in but I've fitted a 68.. but no change..

I've removed and cleaned the carb, air filter (rubber manifold was split but I've repaired) , reed block (no cracks or gaps in the Reed) and replaced the plug but still this issue..

Also the red oil light (I think ??) keeps coming on but I've topped it up and its full..

Any comments, ideas or thoughts would be appreciated..

Is the fuel pump working correctly do you know? First thought was a blocked jet but if you've cleaned it that won't be it, try changing the plug first and make sure no vacuum lines are kinked
