Anyone know how to apply for a new certificate as I cannot find mine.

I passed my CBT little under 3 years ago. Within the 2 year period of a CBT, if you pass a full car test, which I did, the CBT entitlement to ride a moped never expires.

If I get pulled by the police, will it show on their system that I am entitled to ride a moped?

I want to apply for a new certificate just as a back up incase I need to produce it, anyone know how I go about it?

    cheers

moped license entitilement comes with car licence full regardless of if you have done cbt or not. cbt is for 125 and over. check your licence entitlement on the card for confirmation.

Yes you can go to the company to get a copy as suggested btw but seing as its expired they may no longer have it

You only get moped entitlement with a car license if you passed before February 2001, then the law changed which stated you need a cbt?

You cant just send off your CBT certificate and get a new one, you need to take a RE-TEST. Yes, you have to do your CBT again untill you have a full bike license.

As stated on the direct gov website,

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring/learnerandnewdrivers/ridingmotorcyclesandmopeds/dg_4022430

Yes thats IF you have a CAR licence! And if you passed it before Feb 2001 your CBT is valid for life. If you passed your driving test before feb 2001, you can ride a 50cc Moped WITHOUT a CBT and without L plates, If you wish to drive a 125 you need to take your CBT.

So if you didnt pass your driving test before Feb 2001, then you need to do your CBT again every 2 years untill you pass your full bike licence.

If you passed your driving test AFTER Feb 2001 then its the same as above, re-take CBT every 2yrs untill bike licence is passed.

I hope this clears it up for you buddy!

    Read direct gov thing,
if you pass car driving test during the 2 year CBT period, you can ride a 50cc for ever as entitlement to ride a moped never ends?

Or am I not reading the direct gov website correctly?

I think most people are getting confused about what your asking... I'm pretty sure it has to be a valid cbt that you have to send off for your moped licence. And as it would be out of date you will need to do your cbt again?

Best bet is to give the dvla a ring.

cheers boys, just looked at back of car license which says f k p. looking on the web ive found:
    f - Agricultural tractors
k - Mowing machine or vehicle controlled by a pedestrian
    p - Mopeds

So I'm presuming I can ride a moped as p is on the back of my license?

Should have looked this up first really

Yea thats cool then you can ride a restricted 50cc moped without "L" plates and you can carry a pillion if you want aswell.

But if you wanted to ride anything bigger than a 50, or even a legally de-restricted 50 you will need to get a cbt. Remember de-restricting your ped changes it from a moped to a motorcycle.

Category P is automatically on a full car license like I said.

I even asked traffic police for clarification.
