Today Sunday 19th we had Josh Brown turn up a Elvington air strip to compete in his first 1/4 mile standing start sprint race. After various pointers from Team owners Mark Broadhurst and Darrel Taylor, Josh constantly reduced his terminal times to set what could be a new record of 14.76 seconds to complete a standing 1/4 sprint with a terminal speed of 83mph from our Scootermatix 70cc Race bike. His fastest standing start of the day was 85mph. Photos to follow
I don't know if you can add video to the forum, but like everyone else, we have a youTube account with videos on. I'm not linking to it, but it is out there somewhere. Videos from Teeside on a test day are there.
If you want to see the sprints goto: http://www.youtube.com/Scootermatix Look down the page for "Sprint Racing"
didnt realise it was you guy's that raced the ferrari... verry impressive vid (one i show disbilevers of scoots)
That was not us. I've added that video to "Playlist", it is somebody elses video. I linked it in just to show why a 2-stroke uprated 50 is better than a slugish 4-stroke 125. Why get a Ferrari when you can get a zip!! On the note of videos, why become a traffic warden when you can throw eggs!!!
or half eaten gregg's jam dohnuts not that i do that sort of thing of course wheres next on the list?
Well, next weekend we are at Wigan, between Manchester and Liverpool at 3 Sisters for a BSSO Meeting. But we have just been speaking to the guys that organise the scooter sprint racing. They are keen to see people attending and getting their times recorded. There are apparently seperate classes for juniors / road bikes / race bikes / etc. Dave from SES http://www.sestuning.co.uk/ is quite involved. He said it would be good to see where peoples tuning efforts rank and get you on the board. As for road bikes, I think anybody can enter.
