any idea whats up with my rev

i have a Gilera DNA 50cc , but it wont rev right, its fine till i pick up speed and when i hit about 40 kph it dies until i drop in speed and then its fine again , so i cant go any faster than 35 - 40 kph, has anyone got any ideas whats up with my bike, i am new to bike"n......any help appreciated. cheers.

 

have you removed both of the restricting washers ? my mates dna had 2 restrictor washers he took one out and his bike would only do 25mph ?

 

cheers 4 d reply Callum, i am not very good with bikes so ill get my mate too have a look to see if the restricting washers were removed, you see the bike was robbed and when i got it back 2 weeks ago it has been sluggish on the revs, sounds like you might be on too something, any idea how i might check this myself or is it something i should get some1 who knows what they r doing look at it ???

 

remove the variator and see if the washers still there lol
