I was riding my ped today and it cut out, so i tried to start it and it started was riding for a few hundred metres and it cut out again so pulled over got wat tools i had on me out checked it over couldn't find any thing wrong it cut twice more with trouble to start so i then stuck to 30mph and got home without it cutting out, i then had a good check over and mechanical all seems fine performance is still the same but if i let it rev fairly high it doesnt last long before cutting out im finking it could be a cdi problem does any one know what it is if not what it could be? thanks
sounds like its running lean, check the spark plug and then see what that says, sounds to me like you have an air leak somewhere or the jet is blocked
Thats the 3rd time this week that people have said ped runs fine at low revs but cuts out at high revs!!
i have known this with my own, never really got to the bottom of it, can spend all day pissing about trying to sort it and the next day it's fine. weather certain scooters have an intolerance to certain atmospheric pressure or not i don't know.
when i had my stock exhaust on it used to do this , not as bad with this exhaust now though , still would like to know why it did this so keep updated please if you find the problem , i thought mine may needed up jetting, but still waiting for the jet
Yeh i fort it myt be a blocked jet so first time it cut out took the carb apart blew through the jet checked every thing else and it all seemed fine but keept doing it, and its not running lean it runns slighty rich spark plug a fairly dark brown but i gt a new carb just gotta get a needle then ill chuck that on nd see wat happens
some lil f*ckers tried knicking my carb last night luckily my alarm frightend them away they made me run out side in my boxers though im not happy lol
Sounds like theres too much air into the cylinder and not enough fuel, again, clean the carb + main jet with carb spray and maybe increase your jet a touch, or if your running on a performance air filter take it off and put a standard one on with a restricted "chimney" pipe
like i say its running slightly rich and it dont sound like a mixture problem, err just a 17.5mm dellorto standard carb but wen i was checking my bike over to c if they took anything my carb was hanging off so i take they try taking it then wen the alrm went off they just ran off, fuck knows why me bike keeps cutting out but i should be able to get a needle for my 20.5 carb 2morrow so i put that carb on and she if it solves the problem
