    Hi Scooter Shack community !

I'm from Normandy, a raining country as you probably know ;)
I also love my Runner 180, used daily to go working. damned, this is a really good scooter !

    Here is my motor setup:
    - Malossi 172 with homemade cylinder head (centered spark), 1mm squish, 13.5:1
    - stock exhaust (not catalysed)
    - BGM crankshaft full circle 52mm
    - VL16 + VHST 28 + Honda SH125 modified airbox
    - Multivar Malossi with 15.5gr, Piaggio 180 belt
    - Delta Clutch (yellow springs)
    - Original torque driver with Malossi Red spring, Original 180 transmission
    - Leonelli ignition

As all 2 strokes passionated, i always need more :) so i'm thinking about exhaust.
    I have 3 criticals wishes:
    - not rpm hungry exhaust because cylinder's diagrams are stock
    - quiet exhaust because i'm driving exclusively in city
    - focus is on acceleration not on speed

I made many search on internet and here is my conclusion:
    - PM59: best performance but is loud, breakable and quickly rust
    - Malossi: rpm hungry, loud...
    - Jolly: not rpm hungry, rpm power band is in a stretch area, quiet, focus on acceleration, rust
    - tecnigas, kundo etc -> shit

One exhaust is a mystery: SIP performance This is an unrestricted Scorpion exhaust (no restrictor pipe inside cone) with a longer muffler.
It seems to have the following properties:
    Pros:
    - no rust because stainless steel
    - quiet (because longer muffler than scorpion)
    - really not rpm hungry (need +0.5 / +1gr than original rollers...)
    Cons:
    - heavy
    - expensive
    - no top speed improvment

Here is an old dyno test:

What do you thinck about sip performance exhaust for my setup ?
Is PM59 really loud ? can we make it quieter ?
Perhaps my 3 criticals whishes are not feasible and it's preferable to keep my original exhaust ?

    Many thanks for your help

get some pics of that head uploaded!!" :D
sip pipes pretty crap, your spot on with your info tho, so yes, a jolly moto and ether chrome befor you use it, or vht paint it and live with it, so long as you dont let them get too dirty they last forever so rust isnt an issue. jolly moto, or a stock runner 180 pipe.. probably the stock choice given your requirements, there not power killers by any means unlike most other stock pipes

    Here is some head's pics.
Spark is centered and this head is compatible with original cover.
It looks like Kubler's head but KB is using a special spark

Thanks Minor for your advices. Jolly Moto exhausts was my first choice but I was intrigued about SIP exhaust.

Since 1 month, I tried to contact Shiny Red Tuning by email because i would like to have my flywheel lightened but he never respond to my emails :(
In the meantime, my stator dead so I purchase a complete leonelli ignition (stator, rotor and cdi)
Here is some weight pics ;-)

great ignitions, a lightened flywheel should be no trouble to anyone with a lathe, theres no magical balancing or anything done, just remove some material from the face and edges while leaving the pickup area alone. loveley work on the head tho. there is always the bespoke option when it comes to exhausts, i know of a couple in the uk who actually charge less than the full retail cost of an al;l singing all dancing pm59 and the like. silly money for what is really a marginal gain unless you start adding duration to exhaust timing, and then you end up with a revvy pipey engine thats LOUD, i prefer the stock pipe, maybe a filter, dell 25 setup, not as fast as it could be, but a good strong fast reliable engine none the less

I have seen your old post about lightened flywheel and Shiny Dyno test. Seems to be a great improvement for cheap (if you find a lathe as you say) :)
PM59 seams to be really loud... a shame for an expensive exhaust. I think PM Tuning could have a longer muffler....
Thanks for my head but it's not my work, i bought from an italian little productor who is also member of italian runner's forum: http://gilera.forumfree.it/.

Open filter is not safe for my daily use (remember my country is really raining ;-) )
Here is my modified Honda SH125 airbox:
As quiet as original but a real gain at full throttle (need main jet ajustment of course)

When I was running PHBL 25, my settings was:
    - min jet: 45
    - max jet: 88 (original airbox)
    - AQ264 emulsor
    - D24 needle
    - 40 cut valve

Instead of paid for dyno every changed I made, i bought a Koso Power Test. A really great tool :)
Tomorrow i will install Leonelli ignition on my runner :)
    Have a good night !
