can anyone help me my bike will idle but as soon as i touch the throttle it bogs and cuts out but if i leave it. it will idle fine i just cant do a slight twist or it will die but it always starts first time its had a new fuel tap spark plug and inlet manifold and all new fuel pipes including vacuum
use the search mate and check the guides. There has been many forum threads about these situations check your carb is jetted correctly and fuel is getting to the bike etc
the jetting is bang on and the air filter is near brand new but i checked it anyway and there is fuel getting to the carb and there is no blockages in the carb. does anyone know the original settings for a phva 17.5 how many turns out should the mixture screw be and the e clip on the needle
If the jetting was bang on then it wouldn't bog when pulling then throttle... What main jet you using? And do you have an open air filter?
i have used the same setup for a long time on this bike and yes i do have a open air filter its has a polini foam filter yesterday it would stumble then rev up freely
i would say that the pilot jet or mixture needs setting up and maybe the needle position. if the filter has just been fitted then you need to set the carb to match.
u can ajust the needle on a 17.5 the e clip on the needle but anyway all i wanna know is what is the stock settings for this carb
for tErr0 right tErr0 what settings would u recomend for my carb with the setup whats in my sig what i mean by carb settings how many turns out for the air screw and what position would u put the e clip at as u seem to know what ur on with as my bike aint standed or should i still put it 1.5 turns out for the mixture screw and the e clip at the top oh and i have a open air filter i wanna go out on it i aint been out on it for a 2 weeks as i cant be arsed with it breakin down cuz the settings are wrong lol

as terro said, put it back to standard. peronally i hate the sound of cone filters etc and they only work when you have serious amounts of other tuning done.
so pay someone to set it up for you... dont get all shirty with us because you bought something YOU dont know how to install to YOUR bike

LOL.... its not free... terro and myself pay the bills for our PRIVATE members only forum.. think you should read the rules you brieched just now, again and again.. im in a good mood tbh, so i aint gonna bother... plainly, you were given good advice, then argued that a measily 25 quid part that you bought was the reason you didnt want to take the correct advice... im glad you got it sorted in the end, i still stand by my constant advice on airbox's carbs and jetting, but if a filter ona 50 floats your boat nock yourself out.
