Hii have wired inmy alarm and it blew the main fuse when i armed it. I had a thought the alarm has a 15 amp fuse and i wired the power wires into the ignition rather than directly to the battery. So would it be blowing the main fuse as its only 7.5 amps and cant cope? I tried putting a 15 amp fuse in the main fuse and it didnt blow it but i wanna make sure this is safe. Also it has a push button start and imobiliser but i just taped these wires up as im not sure where to connect these. The diagram showed both wires going to the same wire on the ignition but there was a dotted line and a picture of scisssors between the two joining. Not sure what this means. i have a piaggio zip and i think these two connect to the green wire does anyone know if this is correct. Thanks for the help Steve
why the hel;l would you wire it to the ignition? the switch go's to the ignition, power comes from the battery SDIRECTLY hence the alarm box has a fuse.... stick to the wiring diagram.. saves your bike catching fire when you mess with electrical componants
well the wiring diagram showed it wired to permanent live coming from the ignition. Its not the way i wired the other alarms ive done but as the diagram showed it i assumed it would be alright, until it occured to me that it has a 15 amp fuse thats why i was asking
hmm.... well fuck knows.. as theres nothing past the battery that makes more than 7.5 amp apart from the starter motor.
immobiloiser is ether built into the alarm and stops the cdi, or it is a relay immobaliser wich sits in the starter relay power curcit. wire it up how your alarm manual says. the 13a fuse is probably incase of rec/stator malfunction.. god knows.. jus wire it up like it says... ive seen them wire to the batt or to the positive on the ignition. if your main fuse is removed from the battery tho the bike may start without the alarm sounding, depends if its a real shit alarm or not. i usually take spur from the starter motor power feed to the relay... then fuse inline to the alarm. add ALL the wiring into the wires it states but the switch wires ffs dont put em neer the switch, unwrap the middle of the loom and trace them back.. ALL of the wires are in the main chunk of the loom around where your feet are.
diagram is plenty pal.. just gotta figure what wire is what on the ignition, the rest is simple.. then do continuity tests from the stated fitment point to the middle of the loom, wont take long to figure out once you get going.
