my motorbike has an alarm and immobilisor ... I like it obviously because it's a big deterrant, the alarm is mega loud (louder than my car one arc: ) ....and it is pretty sensitive .. this is the problem ... if a noisy car goes past it chirps, and this happens quite often ... it also goes off if you touch the bike, but this is my opinion a good thing. It's got to the point where it drains the battery too quickly and I'm constantly buying new batteries because they end up so unreliable where I don't use it often enough and they are being constantly re-charged. It looks like I might have to disconnect the alarm and immobilisor ... what a waste of money!! ... Do you have any advice? ...I've found the wire that you have to cut to reduce the sensitivity ... it may have already been cut though. Other people must have this problem surely? ...I now have 2 batteries all ready to be used when I start using it for work ... but it's a bit of a pain switching them over constantly and keeping them charged
Any idea of what make it is? Most good alarm immobs have a setting to turn down the sensitivity which doesn't involve cutting a thing. :msn1:
The previous owner got it installed...3 years ago...i could open the alarm up and see if there is a sensitivity reduction option, but I have a wire that says to cut it to reduce it. I have the box ... somewhere ... but I imagine it isn't a recognised brand as it isn't insurance certified. tempted to buy one of those alarms that screams at you on ebay for the moment
On the alarm immob i had you could set it via a few combos with the key fob. Saying that my alarm immob was a high end insurance certifited one. Cutting wires or ripping the thing apart just seems a little bit weird to me. If you can find out the make and can't find the manual i'm sure there will be an online version that tells you how to do it...
hmmm I'm lazy I'd rather cut the wire and see what happens, then repair it after ... it would be easier than working out in which house the alarm box is  ....it is probably a non-existant company by now I don't imagine it was more than a hundred quid ... I could get one of those talking ones for £30 and turn the senstitivity right down
