hello, im new to scooters.. im used to working with geared bikes.

Ive got a benelli k2 100 just for commuting, i've noticed that theres a long tube that goes from the front of the case to under the bellypan with an air filter on the end.
what the hell is it for? Can't i fit an angled air filter direct on the case? also why is it on the case and not the carb?

    Thanks :)

Would it be ok to ditch the tubing and fit air filter direct to the case? just wondering as it would look cool, i think. lol

Well lots of people do it. They stick the little K&N type filter with a 45 degree elbow on it.
