Air filter oil

    ello lads,my bike tends to bog down and almost cut out when it rains,the foam filter gets absolutely soaked.does airfilter oil expel water?any ideas what type i should go for?
    my filter is just made of foam.

    They advertise some air filter oils as being waterproof yet you can wash the oil out... :confused:arc: So fuck knows.

    Straight inlet manifold's are your friend.

    sensible option is pout the ALL WEATHER airbox back on.. but i know you wont do that so get a 4 pint milk bottle and cut the part under the handle off.. then when it rains whip the carb off, sling this on the carb then put the filter inside with the hole pointing up and voila.. no more wet filter. filter oil does help but the filter is OVER THE REAR WHEEL and will get verry wet. when water gets into your engine it wont run well, will completly mess up the jetting and potentially sieze your bike as the water is present when the engine is turned off exposing your crank/bearings/barrel to water. ill take a pic of a crank that has been in the rain for a short time and you will see how badly thewy take to water. only needs a tiny little shaddow of rust on a single ball bearing to kill your crank/barrel..
