Hi all, I just received a shiny new standard replacement filter in the post, I'm wondering if I can just remove the silly black foam that's covering the exterior of the filter, it's not glued or attached in any way to the filter housing, seems pretty pointless to me.

    Cheers.

Thanks. The old filter didn't have that so I figured it may have been some new feature they make nowadays.
