Hi, I have a 2001 Aerox 50 with a cast iron 70 kit,stage 6 pro rep pipe,polini speedcontrol and 21mm carb. The bike is great off the line and I have no complaints whatsoever. However the top end is only 50mph. I changed the rollers to 5 grams and the bike will still only do a needles width over 50. At this speed the revs are really high and even down a hill it won't speed up!! Just wandering if someone could point me in the right direction. Cheers Tam :good:
i'm not an expert so correct me if i'm wrong! ive got the same set up except for the carb and bore, but maybe a gear up kit? because ive read a few posts on here and the 70 kit will increase in acceleration but if the gearing is the same it wont get much more top speed, so maybe try a gear up kit hope that helped dan
My first runner was only derestricted standard derestricted exhaust and I was getting 46-50mph clock, however my second runner had a malossi 70 sport kit installed with a yasuni R, that only did 43 tops so finally I found out that my yasuni pipe was restricted so after it was derestricted it increased my top speed to 55 +/- but my pipe was only partially derestricted so I'm guessing your pipe is letting u down but I'm not experienced with that pipe
Thanks for the replies, Before I fitted the 70cc and the pipe it would do 60mph on the clocks! The pipe is most defently de restricted, The acceleration is 100% but it just won't rev harder than it is at 55mph. I am scared of fitting a gear up incase it dramtically decreases my acceleration. Any further info appreciated!! Tam
As someone else said on here once, more revs does not mean more speed... Make sure your pipe is fully derestricted that could knock off a good 15-20mph off your top speed
hmm, what have you done since you have put the new kit on? of have you just put the kit on and thats it?
