I'm jimmy and I'm from England (Kent) I'm building an engine for a Yamaha aerox and basically need information about the most important things that need to be done, I under stand most thing but not too sure on ignition timings and how to adjust them, Im planning to put on the stage 6 racing 70's, Would it be alright with the pro replica? I already ordered it, Would I need any porting done? Thank you for all the help

As for ignition timing, the CDI has a set curve and timing so there's no need to change anything around :) Which crank are you going for?

Ohhh right, should be okay then, I already have a racing cdi on there on my aerox, but nothing major is modified on that engine at the moment, I'm going for the stage 6 hpc crank man :)

Sounds good to me :) It's gonna go really nicely when it's all set up, what carb have you got? And variator etc?

Well at the moment Im only working on the crank casing and just getting basic ideas on what to get set up, On my aerox now I have a Polini high speed 3 gram, Polini race belt (Had it for 350miles and it's tearing already!), The clutch is standard, Parmakit 50 top end, Racing cdi, kundo power pipe, Standard carb and air filter, I'm planning to get on the new engine a stage 6 19mm race carb, Gonna be a pain in the arse setting up the carb but should be worth it

Don't worry about jetting the carb being a pain the arse, the guys on here are great and you will find a basic guideline. Saves a lot of time.

Setup sounds good, id recommend a pmtuning clutch though. Would you sell me the parmakit 50 top end? I need a standard crank too...

Nice one :) I'm doing a budget rebuild, but luckily I have access to engineering facilities so I'm gonna have a standard cylinder bored out to 70cc, and get some decent bearings on a standard crank.

Won't go anywhere near as well as yours but it will be fast, and will cost about 40 quid haha

Yeah that sounds like a good idea, Haha, My engine at the moment is really good to be fair, For a 50s kit i have overtook some 125's and most mopeds, it's not tooo bad, Get roughly 55-60 on flat and downhill it goes past the "temp" writing but that's a mega hill lol, Hopefully when this engines all finished I should get a solid 75? But I want it mostly for low and mid range because i prefer to be quicker of the line than top end

Yeah mine goes surpsprisingly well for a 50, it got a ported cylinder, polini reeds and a carb and pipe. Goes really well of the line, the pmtuning clutch helps a lot.

I keep up with my mate on a 125 4 stroke that's had some work done, hopefully when my engine is done I'll fly past him ;D

Yeah man that sounds good, Where did you get your cylinder ported? How do you know of you need it ported or not? I don't really understand porting at the moment as I've never really been explained it :)

You would need a gear up to hit them speeds
