I had a setup where my bike was decent. Everyone left me at pull of even 50's but then about 2-3 seconds later ill be flying past them. So i thought it could of been my clutch as i have changed the rollers to 3.5 gram. So with the standard clutch and 3.5 rollers my accerleration was 2-3 seconds behind but did go upto about 60-65. NOW HERES THE PROBLEM My decent setup Stage 6 streetrace 70kit Stage 6 Exhaust 12mm Stock Carb Standard Variator 3.5g rollers K&n style airfilter THENNNNNN .... as soon as i put my clutch on my bike wouldnt go nowhere but when it got going to 30 after 10-15 seconds it would just be kinda normal again and i got 50 out of it and it still could of gone more faster. SOOOO .... does this mean its proberley the clutch springs on the clutch , Help me out people i need this beast running sweeet
1 tip: i read alot of people saying 17.5mm carb is about the smalest you wanna go with a 70kit, and with a k&n style air filter its even worse, i would reccomend first getting a new carb also im sure i read somewhere that the clutch controlls the initial take off speed so go stronger than standard for good pull away speed the slow pull away then sudden lots of speed problem is exactly the same as my old ice. i never bothered to sort it but i think was the clutch try different clutch springs and rollers till you get right mix of pull away speed and acceleration up to top speed
LOL a new carb first? id set the clutch you just bought up.. just because its an aftermarket clutch does not mean you can just throw it at a bike and expect it to be perfect. they usually are worse than stock to start with as there not set to anything in particular. ajust/fit stiffer springs to your clutch, then reset your roller weight. may want to look at a new carb in the future, altho it has no real impact on your problem, other than the fact youve slapped a filter on it thus worsening the fueling curve. but ye, ajust your clutch.
