hi i own a 67 plate aerox r i took to get derestricted in the shop and still no luck ive now put on a ped moto exhuast upjetted the carb to match the exhuast and ive put on a new clutch spring and im running 4.5g rollers and the bike is horrific when it comes to taking off and hills it will get 5 mph if im lucky i genrally have to push it on any hills any ideas or mods i can do to get this thing pulling off tge mark better once i get to 15 - 18 mph it jits the band and pulls fine up to 45 -50 but if i hit the hill with speed all the revs go and its as if i hate a brake and the bike comes to a stop any help would be great
I had the same problem mate. rapid take off but slow up hill. It was driving me nuts. I checked it out a bit with different weight rollers and by putting 8g rollers in I found them to be perfect.
Could be a number of issues, as said above, rollers for a start. But 4.5gr should be fine. Have you changed the torsion spring or clutch springs for stronger ones? Stronger torsion/clutch springs will allow the front of the engine to spin up higher in the rev range before engaging the clutch shoes and spinning the wheel, and also allow it to drop the ratio to a lower 'gear' when going up hills. What about the air filter? Is it the standard air box or have you fitted an open type one? And what colour is the spark plug? You could be running a bit rich.
