Hello people, I'm new to the forum and am after some advice for my Aerox...

Its all stripped down because I'm inpatient and want to fit everything at once - I'm also getting the panels re-sprayed by a mate, so I thought I'd strip it to make things easier to fit...

The only tuning part it has at present is a PM Tuning pipe. its loud but pulls well so that will stay unless it really disagrees with the 70 kit.

So I've done loads of research and learnt a lot about my bike - but I want some advice before I spunk a load of cash on parts that possibly wont work well :wtf:

    Im thinking:

    - Polini Corsa 70cc kit
    - Dell'orto 21mm carb (with choke & jets)
    - Stage 6 intake kit (manifold & reed block)
    - Open Airfilter of some sort
    - Polini Speed Control kit
    - Malossi Clutch & Wing Bell

The bikes done less than 6000 miles so am i ok to stay with the standard crank? I wouldn't know how to go about fitting a crankshaft myself :wtf: :emb:

Yeah, please give me your opinions! Will the beast be quick with this setup? Wheelies? :w00t:

    Thanks, Joe.

rather than the polini corsa kit, get a malossi MHR-rep 70 kit ;)

The MHR-rep is alloy so dissipates heat better than the corsa which is cast iron :D

you haven't said what exhaust your gonna run with this set up!!

    Thanks for your reply!

I thought the Corsa kit was more powerful than the MHR Replica? I want to get maximum performance out of the lil thing!

I am planning on using my PM Tuning pipe with this setup. i don't know much about this pipe as it was already on the bike when I bought it :emb: but my mates got an Aerox with a Polini sport 70cc and the same PM pipe and it goes pretty well!

PM Tuning don't make this particular pipe any more so i can't even provide a link!

What are your thoughts on the standard crank?

    Thanks, Joe.

I also forgot to mention that the rep has a nikasil plated bore,

so no real running in needed ;)

The rep will run ok on a p.m pipe, and will piss all over sports cast iron kits all day long....

but with a yasuni city16 it will allow the kit to perform to its full potential ;)

you could always do what im doing, run the rep on the sports pipe until you can afford
    the yasuni pipe :D

As for a std crank with a rep, RISKY!!!! mate, unless its very low mileage, i would invest in a full circle crank and some fresh main bearings ;)

    Thanks again for your advice.

I will go for the MHR Replica in that case -

I would actually love to get a new crank as well, just for peace of mind when I'm caning it WOT but I wouldn't know how to go about fitting it!

I'd have to buy a special tool just to get the variator/ignition nuts off - like an airgun type thing wouldn't I?

Also just seen pictures of a crank and bearings in your freezer on your piczo site???!!!

Anywhere I can see pictures of one being fitted, so I could do it myself?

    Thanks, Joe.

    Oh and also!

What spark plug would the MHR Rep need? Theres loads on Scooter Attack, racing/standard/long thread/short thread etc...

    Thanks, Joe.

crank fitting isnt really something a novice should tackle as a 1st project...

ive been messing with cars and bikes for more years than i care to mention :emb:

i would pay someone who knows what they are doing to fit it ;)

wobbly may be able to do it for a fee, hes done loads for people on here, comes
    highly recommended :D

and the rep would use whatever the std plug is for your scooter ;)

    Right!

I've got some cash together and am going to run the following setup:

    - Malossi MHR Replica 70cc
    - Stage 6 HPC Crank
    - Stage 6 Crank bearings & small end bearings
    - Stage 6 Intake system
    - Stage 6/Dell'orto 21mm carb
    - TNT Obus Airfilter
    - Polini Speedcontrol 2003
    - Malossi X Special Belt
    - Stage 6 Drive Face
    - Malossi Delta Clutch & Wing Bell

If that sounds OK to you lot - what roller weights and jet sizes should I go for?

I'm going to get a box of jets but I don't know which one, also there don't seem to be any sets of rollers and I wouldn't know where to start?

    Thanks, Joe.

Okay, I have just had a letter come through reminding me that my insurance needs renewing - so £350 odd.

Kinda fucks up my MHR Replica plan.

Is there anyone out there running a MHR Rep on a standard crank? That would save me some dosh!

Any other ways of cutting the cost down?

    Thanks, Joe.

if you go for a 16% gear up kit acceleration wont be affected much...

and youll have a genuine 60-65mph ped (70-75mph clock speed) ;)

Thanks for all the advice people! I really appreciate it!

I'm just gonna insure the ped TP only this time round and buy shit loads of locks. I keep it in a garage overnight anyway so shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone have any experience with the PM Tuning X-Tech kit. Its aluminum but only uses a 1-ringed piston. i'd link but their sites weird and uses "indexing" - The kit is advertised on their UK home page and states that it produces around 13Bhp at 10,000 RPM. They also recommend using a 33% gear up?

I wanna go fast but I don't want my crank to snap!

    - Joe.

Okay mate no need to get so passionate! I was only asking.

Will be looking at the MHR Rep on a standard crank then. I won't be sleeping easy at night though...

I will consult my finances again and see what I discover.

May well have to get that PM kit though and sell the bike soonish to pay for a car.

well look, you asked for an honest opinion after you have made your mind up on the cheap ass kit in a pm box.. if you want a cheapo single ring kit get an airsil iron single.. its twin exhaust port and way better than the chocolate pistond kit pm are selling

or just dont ask next time as your not gonna listen.

malossi/polini last twice as long as ANY kit of the same spec. FACT
