hi basically i have just installed a new 50cc replacement parmakit barrel,head and piston i have also put a doppler s3r exhaust and a standard polini filter now when i start the bike it will tick over on the choke for about 20 secs then cut out then wont start again unless a suck some more petrol though though the vacume pipe it was running fine before and i chaged the barrel because the bolt on the manafold sheerd off. could it be a bigger jet i need?? thanks andrew
hi not to sure as i just got the scooter i think it will be standerd size witch i belive is around 66 it also at some point has had a boost bottle fitted as the connection is still there between the carb and the engine
no but thanks for that will try so do you think i need to upjet then maybe 10%?? also the new barrel has a wider exhaust port
hi just tryed blocking where the boost bottle was and it made no diffence will buy some jets tomorrow and try that thanks for you help :cheers:
take the boost bottle off load of bollox, whats a 'standard polini filter' do you mean a sponge or an open filter?
hi its a sponge filter in the airbox and i take it if i got a boost bottle it wouldent make a differance to the power do you think i should up jet

basicly no one knows what size u need , but you definatly need to upjet, i would buy a pack of jets ranging from 70+ type in google donotlink pedstop and click your make and model of bike and click carb and filters i think , and jets will come up for your bike they are around ten pounds pluss delivery , but yes thats the problem needs upjetting i did it with my own bike. luke
thanks for that bought some today also i got it running and the power is all over the place it accelerates nicly from 10-25 then on flat will get to 35 but when going down a hill as soon as it gets to 45 it shots of like a bullet to 65 why is it doing this is it the variator?? :glare:
Did it even cross your mind to run in your New piston? Rollers must be changed when a new exhaust is fitted... "the rollers set the opperating rpm of your engine, you need to drop the roller weight, upjet slightly and fit some stiffer clutch springs" (MiNoR) :glare:
ye i will get some lighter roller weight cuz the ones that came with it a quite heavy a clutch springs did cross my mind thanks for the help guys :cheers:
i got a o7 aerox r carb is a gurtner and MJ is 62 i got a leo vince tt exhust went to a 68 runs fine just spullters for like 5 secs when first started thinking bout new air filter aswell
