riding my aerox down the road today and it began to splutter at high revs especially after going through puddles . after a while it stopped firing and stopped but started back up again 5 minuits later i then rode for another 5 minuits and it happend again but this time it wouldnt start again and now it wont go at all took it apart put on a new ht lead and cleaded the plug it sparks ok and when i kick it the plug comes out wet with petrol -- please help i need my scoot for work tommro . 1 thing to add i used some petrol me and my friend found in his garage wich possibly could have been leaded could this cause a problem . cheers tom :emb:
Another aerox owner that cant read through old posts arc: most probably ht lead/spark plug cap.. let it dry out overnight, use a hairdryer if you want it done faster..
the petrol should be ok it it wasent full of shit. sure water not getting in airfilter ? air leek anywhere ? try a new plug.
yeah. manifold split. hose from airbox to carb ? could be a few things you will just have to have a good look over it.
if you used potentially leaded fuel it must be approaching 10 years old.. drain the shit off, put in a new plug and DONT USE SHED SWILL EVER AGAIN sounds like its just dodgy fuel/diesel
still shit guys ive drained it - took my manifold and reeds ov and sucked everything out and got the air line and blasted all the shit out got brand new fuel - it didnt run then i tried easy start didnt start AGAIN but the pug still sparks and comes out wet each time . need help had to use public transport today
plug commin out wet.. take it out and leave it for 10 mins... fi it drys its deffo fuel on there...otherwise its water an it could have killed a gasget.. really cant be arsed thinkin right now.. somone else?
ok if its burnt a gasket - is the bike really smokey since its started spluttering? this would mean that the head gasket has mostlikely gone. i did have the same problem when my rings went and it was compusting past the rings but it was more of a backfire than a splutter?
nahh its a splutter and it wasnt smoking thanks for the help though i decided it wasnt water after its not seized solid after eacch time i leave it (ater in the barrel ) any other ideas guys
whats the mileage on clock? I still think its electrical..seeing as everytime you went though a puddle it died down..
electrical or oil seals... tun the engine slowly and see if you hear the air hissing out the manifold (take the carb out obv)
oil seals interesting could be this as when i flushed the engine case it came out black - very black it does hiss a bit aswell is this a big problem
when you flushed the engine out did you full it with oil after to oil up the bearings + seals....one of the seals might have dried up.
ok but it didnt think u ran them with oil in the crankcase ? n i havnt would this cause the problem ?€
You dont run it with oil in like a 4T...lol just swing a bit of 2 stroke oil in there... and that wouldnt be the problem At 19000km most stuff is pretty wornout..
