iv noticed aerox pans are made of a diffo black plastic to like nrg zip runner pans ect and when you sand the pans down on an aerox so some bits are paint n some are the plastic then apply primer it doesnt adere well and wrinkles up .why does this happen on aerox pans but not piggy .im using cans from halford by the way how can i stop it reacting .primer normaly doesnt react with oat but it doesnt seem to agree wiv my rox pans . can any help. thanks v much nibs
if your using soap for the sanding stop.. sand it ALL off, bang em in the bath an give em a good scrub.. then rinse with the shower head for ages, let them dry for ages.. if its still reacting use a coat of filler primer
yerp lol water n fairy liquid. y i dont no lol ma bro told me thats wot he used to do when he was a panel beater
Yeah not before paint though lol, just use warm water. Careful what soap you do use though as it can react. Fairy is fine
ite man .to be fair if i want so lazy n sanded the whole lot like minor said itd be a lot easier but its a lot of man hours just to sell the bike cheap i h8 sanding i mean fukin h8 it wiv a passion iv done so much of it .any one wanna buy me a d.a for christmas lol
m8, soap is for lazy people and causes reactions.. you need the tinyest bit.. i for one dont use ANYTHING wiht the water now, jus make sure its good an warm an douse it again and again... remember, dont have to go so fine on the primer.. want a deep scratched up finnish and fill it with prime.. like 240.. mabey as low as 120 if its an electric sander (gives a finer finnish than by hand) build it up.. once the tops on and its a nice thick coat you sand it back to get it flat then buff/compound to get the finnish
ite man second i get out of my mum n dads fekin shop ill get to it .iv been sat ere to look after the shop while they go for some bloody meeting.the one day i get up early to do the bike lol they sit me ere like some rent boy . thanks for all the tips
I might do some down the shed today too but it's getting fooking cold. My sander looks like a mini iron lol, but I generally just do it by hand. From scratch I sometimes use the sander though.
ye, sander i only use for the big flats.... typh pan's are pritty forgiving when it comes to sanding tbh.... like i siad tho, it doesent have to be perfect till the top coat...
yh whats the lowest you should go teperature wise .i warm the pans up slightly n the paint 2 just to help it along dunno weather this is reccomended but it seems to work .yh typh pans are pritty flat arnt they not to many cuvry bendy awkward bits .i find piggy paint sands off easier aswell compared to rox
i tried to paint me ped at the weekend and after i rubbed down and washed it i primes it. it started to react! like crinkle like there was paint stripper on it. so i had to take it back to plastic. its a right bastard! if you have to do this watch out for parts like your front mud guard and inspection pannel. they are full of filler and react quite badly. like the filler goes sort and its harder to get the paint off. dont use paint stripper ether i learnt my lesson edit: dont rush or cut corners!
ive sprayd in neer freezing conditions befor now (not good but still) warm the cans in water... as said befor, heat good guns and prep make for wicked paint quick.. prep time and hard graft can make any paint good.
just dont use soap.. its a lazy bastard trick... just use more water. simple.. oh and celly red oxide is bangin on plastic pans LOL shame you cant buy it anymore (i have LOADS of it)
