Yesterday i decided to check my piston and barrel for any wear as i dont know when the previous owner had installed the polini sport 70 kit. It all came off a treat and looked good (no major scores or marks on either the barrel or piston). So i went to put the piston back into the barrel after making sure there was a good coat of 2 stroke on the barrel and piston and rings. It was very stiff and quite hard getting the piston in the barrel, but i eventuallt got it all together with a bit of help with a small rubber mallet. I tried spinning the crank but it wouldnt move so thought something must have been on the piston or in the barrel and scored and jammed. So today i decided to take it all off again and double check, after checking the barrel and piston again, and checking the crank would turn over, everything seemed ok and i put it all together again (the piston was again hard to get to the top of the barrel). and again the crank wont turn
-Is this normal? (i dont think so)
    -what could cause the problem?
    cheers tommo

Have you got the rings seated right on the piston ? You should never use a hammer to put a bore on... Have you tried puting the top of the cylinder on and bolting it down and trying to turn it over by hand ? I wouldn't put it back in the bike till you fix the problem or you could do a lot more damage.

Yeah same as Jonnymarrw00t, make sure the rings are in the piston correctly on the locating pins.

Did you take the rings off the piston by any chance ? Cause I know it sounds abit stupid but they could be upside down....lol.
