hi guys, I have fully rebuilt my aerox 2000, crank spins free has spark carb is getting feul but the spark plug is dry when I kick it over a few times, any ideas?
1. Carb - has it got fuel in it and is it clean? (whip the float bowl off and check its full, worth cleaning the carb out too as blocked jets could cause similar issues) -Yes - move on to 2 -No - Why, vac tap stuck? flaot valve stuck? blocked filter? 2. Reed valves - Do they open and close as they should? (whip the reed block out whilst the carb is off (4 torx or anti-tamper allen bolts iirc), should be able to blow through it but when you suck air it should close) -Yes - Move on to 3 -No - clean out and turn reed petals over or ideally replace 3. Compression - What sort of compression values are you getting (ideally 130psi+, usually if it blows your finger off the plug hole quite violently when turned over then compression is good) -Yes - Move onto 4 -No - Stuck rings, ruined piston/rings/cylinder, head gasket 4. Crank seals ok? (check for "wet" oily areas at the back of the variator and stator, people often overlook crank seals but 2 strokes reply on crankcase compression to transfer the fuel mixture to the cylinder) -Yes - Bike should run assuming spark is good -No - Replace crank seals
