Aerox Electric Start Grinding Noise

Hello I have a Yamaha aerox and before I got my 50cc airsal race kit fit every time I started it with the electric start it was fine but as soon as I got it fitted ever since it struggles to start and makes a grinding noise when trying to start it what could it be and how could I fit it.

They have a funny starter clutch set-up behind the variator. Could be the starter clutch is dried up and the spring loaded roller bearings are sticking.
Could also be the starter motor struggling to turn the engine with the higher compression ratio with the new kit, or a dying battery.
Does it sound like it grinds when you use the kickstarter?

Might want to have the belt cover off and see if anything is catching on the inside
