Hello everyone im trying to replace my clutch and im finding it extremely difficult/impossible to remove the nut that holds it all on. I was told by a friend just to grip the rear brake and undo it, I am squeezing the rear brake as hard as possible, the leaver is basically at the bars and when i apply pressure to undo the nut the wheel still moves?! I mean the back brake is okay whilst riding it will skid but im afraid that if i really grip this harder i will burst a pipe, I have tried penetrating oil and it still doesnt work at moving the nut! Its not seazed or anything its asif im turning it the wrong way! haha how can i get this off without any garage equipment? Thanks.

Ideally you need an airgun (not to shoot it!) to remove it or you could try holding the clutch bell with an oil filter strap.

make a holding tool out of 2 pieces of bar and 3 bolts like below

Would I put them bits into the bell to hold it?

yes, then sprag it against the floor whilst trying to undo the clutch centre nut

Just tighten 2 nuts against the other side of the 2 sections of bar and leave the threads sticking through far enough to fit into the holes in the clutch drum. have someone hold it to stop it slipping and you shouldnt have a problem
