I've had a problem with my aerox 70cc for quite a while now, when I set off it is very slow until I get up to 20 mph the it gets into the powerband. I have tried stronger clutch springs to keep the clutch from engaging to early and all different roller weights. Could this be down to my exhaust it is a pm tuning 360? Thanks
It might be down to the initial set-up of the exhaust system but not the exhaust at fault! When you fitted it did you change anything else? It will be pushing out more air at a faster rate (360 creates more back pressure) Personally I would take the jet out and go up 2/3 sizes, definitely sounds like a carb problem Keep us up-to-date.....
It has nothing to do with carb set up or anything else, I have tried all different rollers an springs together and I have also tried every jet and no difference, I also bought a bigger carb and tried all jets and it still never made a difference
What rollers have you tried in terms of lightest and heaviest? You probably need substantially lighter rollers for the 360 pipe as the power band is quite high up the rev range.
From 3gram to 7 gram, 4 has been the best after 20mph as anything less it will rev to high and anything over it till be sluggish. So I think te rollers are correct and the jet anything different and it either dies or splutter.
You might want to try a sports Torque Corrector (Torque Driver) then. Standard ones have 'banana-shaped' slots in them, with a higher gradient slope on the slot initially and a lower gradient towards the end of the slot. This is supposed to give a good take-off speed and then the lower slope gives a good cruising speed. I think in your case, you may need one with slopes of single, fixed gradients and the aftermarket ones such as Motoforce and Malossi have slots at a couple of different gradients, to allow you to try different acceleration rates. http://www.rrd-preparation.com/en/half-corrector-couple-minarelli-vertical/904-product-904.html
