Hi, Me again! moaning about the problems i have with my aerox. Trying to keep it simple and easy today. I was running a sports exhaust on my aerox and got 35mph on the flat and then i put my standard exhaust on and it worked OK with 40mph. Does this mean i must have been running on standard jetting? Also, when i put my standard exhaust on i used the wrong gasket and i got 40mph on the flat. Now a garage have fitted the right gasket it only goes 28mph. I was thinking of fitting my sports pipe back on OR having my mates ZX and upjetting the carb. If i decide to put either pipes back on what jet size should i use and what roller weights? Thanks, hope it all makes sense. Please answer all if possible.
I have read some of your other threads, as you need to why didn't you replace the 70 kit with another 70 kit?
When i purchased the bike i did not know i had a 70cc engine in it because i only went 55mph. And also the dad! :/
what puzzles me is you do all this changing of this and that, but you have a garage fit an exhaust gasket, which on my scoot takes 10 minutes and a child could do, especially as the bolts on your exhaust system, don't stay still long enough to seize up. are you using standard air box or open filter, if it is the standard air box, check that the hose is okay and secure. have you been fiddling with the carb settings? The standard Aerox 50 main jet is 86 and the pilot screw setting is 1 and 3/8 turns out.
It just easier for them to fit, 2 seconds around corner and i cba to fit it... Im using a standard airbox and to be honest the hose looks fine. Have never fiddled with the carb settings. All i know is that the garage down jetted the bike when i had my 50cc put on but left the exhaust on it. Not sure what jet i have in there atm, because i need a certain 'star drive' or something to take the carb off - but i think the jet may be smaller than an 86 jet - is fully standard actually 86? thought that seemed a bit too high :/ as my mate is running an aerox, polini 70cc, reed block, yasuni c16 & the rest with something like an 82ish i believe....
in my data files, Aerox liquid cooled 50 should have a Dellorto PHBN 12HS slide carburettor, running a main jet of 86, pilot jet of 36 and a starter jet of 45. There is little logic relativity between makes of bike, you can get two different makes who use the same engine and same size carb, yet the jet sizes will be different.
Highly doubt that the standard main jet is 86, so had a look on google and found a link says its 62. What performance exhaust have u got ? if u have a high end 70 exhaust it will make ur bike run like shit on a standard 50.
http://www.scootershack.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6059 we are both right, depends on year and what type of carb. this hasn't been the first time of confusion.
