Ive got a aerox with the following installed in it : Italkit 70cc crank cases matched to barrel , doppler s3r exhaust doppler air box standard 13mm carb but has been upjetted to 122 and the needle lowered standard vario The problem is this it acclerates and then slows down and then boom it goes fast and then slow down in like 2 seconds , i know what this problem is its the clutch because the pads are worn out. The other problem is that it doesnt pull fast through the speeds but it goes nearly about 65-70 im judging . But in less than 10 miles it uses up half of a tank of petrol , but there is no leeks or nothing , so im just wondering what you guys think it is
does the filter smell of petrol. if it does, certainly worth a look, to see if the reeds are sealing.
i bought a pm tuning clutch got it in and the clutch slips a bit still , i have 2 standard clutch bells , one is worn out with lots of nasty groves in it and the other one is slighty deeper which covers up the pads on the clutch more but it still slips. i think its the clutch bell as its hot when i take the side casing off after running it for under 5 minutes , any help ?
Could be a missadjusted clutch thats constantly rubbing, then overheating and not gripping - ie it will bite, overheat and then stop gripping as well.
1. Your carb is STUPIDLY small. 112 jet ? You mad. buy a 17.5mm I would. Also. You're not doing 70 without a gear up. 60 at most. Your jet is too big so it's causing it too bog down. Also check your fuel pipes. Could have a hairline split in them. They can become britall over time also, check your fuel tap. Pull the pipe off, if it keeps flowing your taps buggerd. I'd strongly recomend a variator kit also. Aerox one's are shit.
I have been there, dialling in small carbs on modified engines, at best they work in a limited RPM range, but fail to provide adequate engine cooling. It's not enough just to have the right air/fuel ratio, you need volume as well. The underside of the piston, relies on the incoming charge, to lose heat from combustion. X2 on the variater, renown not to be able, to hold the engine consistently in peak power, while the belt travels up the drive pulley.
