    Hi again,

So now I got roxy to run, I have the belt off just so it will rev out to check everything etc, slight problem, its bogs on more than 1/2 throttle, I've tried a 72 & 75, basically do I need to go bigger or smaller?

    Spec is

    athena hpr 70
delly 21mm carb & polini filter
    stage 6 variator 5g rollers
    polini reeds
    Motoforce manifold
    stage 6 pro race exhaust
    polini clutch
    polini belt
brand new crank seals and bearings

    anyone throw some light on it? I have a 80 90 95 100 & 105 mainjet to try

one of them do the trick or smaller
and should I adjust the needle clip?

    Tried fuel/air mixture

    p.s, im running premix

    Hi
If it bogs with no belt then it could be that the engine is behaving as if it's rich because it's lot loaded by the drag of the transmission. An engine with no 'load' will be too rich - all things being equal. Load the engine and it tends to need more juice.
Put the transmission on and see what that does. If it's better, then it was that.
If, however, it's bogging because it's too poor - (it will make a sound like a sheep going 'beeeuuuhhhhh') then that means it's too poor and you need to upjet. . Let it warm up a bit before arriving at hasty conclusions ! ! All engines are poor when they are cold. This is what chokes are for.

Then try again. Don't do any more testing with no belt. It's not particularly useful - apart from letting you know if it starts.

Just going on spec I would say start with 90 / 100 with a Polini sponge filter and a DO 21. Possibly a bit more. 110 to be safe, then work down till it pulls. Leave the needle clip in the middle for the mo. It's better to jet big and work down. You can't damage an engine by being too rich.

If it refuses to behave no matter how big a jet you put in it (and it should be between 90 to 110 depending, with a sponge filter) then you have a leak. These values are ballpark. And virtually useless - but they illustrate a point. It might be great with an 88, but I suspect high nineties. It might be 110 ? Only one way to know. Make it too rich and go down by fives.
So if it's still going 'beuuhhh' with 120 you know you have a leak.
    Good luck -

Just so frustrating, tempted to replace the seals again and gaskets, getting annoyed so much :/

If you have polini open air filter you will need a jet in bigger than 75

Yeah ive tried from 72 80 75 90 95 100 105, I've stripped it down and spent more money on seals and gaskets, I out it down to a seal, I HOPE! I also noticed that when I put my finger on the belt and pull/push down the belt goes loose, it has a polini 3g/g3 clutch(whatever one it is) and the standard white contra spring which im gonna replace to the stage 6 one that came with my variator, im a fully qualified car and hgv mechanic and built several motocross bikes but I always found aeroxs to be fundamental

thanks for your input though pal
