I am finally at that age of life (16)

I have done my cbt and provisional license, all i need to do now is get insurance. I visited compare the market to find the cheapest insurance possible and the prices were so high even tho its marked that its kept in a garage and have a alarm installed. the cheapest price was 379 and it was third party only.

Can i please get some advise how i can achieve the lowest price possible.

    Thanks Matty.

what did you put the bike value at? also the area you live in also depends on how much you pay as for example places were theres alot of idiots about on cars or bikes and crashes are likely to happen them areas it costs abit more

i've been on my aerox for 3 years insured now
    First year. £170
    second year £140
    third year £158

best part about that is am running 3 years no claims i got quoted on a zx6r 2004 at £784 for the year but am going to be getting a yz125 (33BHP MOOTTTHHHAAAFUKKAAA) and only cost me £180 for the year

then tbh am not sure as that quote is extremely high, when i was going to get my bike back on rode i was getting quotes of £500+ even after 3 years no claims on the same bike

just ring up MCE/BENNETTS and sort a quote out via phone will be alot cheaper i did that and just took the same previous insurnace i had on my bike out

Have you seen this thread? http://www.scootershack.co.uk/threads/insurance-costs.623/

Also, i'd try TP, TPFT and Fully Comp insurance as sometimes TPFT can be cheaper than TP etc. Also, unless your bike is worth quite a bit as a standard bike (not including all the extras on it that you probably wont declare), then you may be best with just TP. The reason being is at 16, if you make a claim that your bike has been stolen then you may get £xxx amount back but the insurance companies will use the fact that you've claimed, against you for a very long time increasing your insurance for bikes & cars.

if you go with third party only, insurance companies look at it as if you dont care about the car, so likely to be less cautious driving it

just to go very off topic, adam love your sig
