Hi, i have a 2005 aerox 50. It starts and rides fine, the oil light works as does all the other electrics except the lights. The side lights glow on idle but are barely visible until you rev the bike right upand then they come on really bright. Also the rear light dosn't come on till you really rev the bike and the main headlight doesnt work at all. i bought the bike this way and have no ideas what could be wrong with it. any ideas what it could be? i thought maybe it was the rectifier
Yeah i'd start off by checking the wattage on the ulbs then working back to the regulator and then back to the stator. If you still have no luck then i would look for an earth leak somwhere. You have to remember the lights work streight from the stator so it's a seperate circuit from the battery charging side. try removing a bulb and seeing if the lights come brighter, you may find one bulb is earthing the live out and making the stator work overtime to try to make the bulbs light up.
i no its normal for them to brighten when you rev the bike but it really bad i mean you cant even see the side bulbs at idle then they come on really really bright also the back light doesnt even glow at idle but comes on bright wilst its being reved. this needs fixing cause if im at traffic lights at night no one could see me.
