aerox 100 electrical fault (head-scratcher)

hiya guys, its been a realy long time since ive last been on here, its nice to be back, but unfortunately i havent been able to find any any answers to my problems. ive aquired an aerox 100 unfortunately. the key had been snapped in the ignition, if you could manage to turn it, it would still work (as expected) anyway the lad that had it before then swapped the ignition barrel for a new one, and ever since it will not run, it is the correct part, all wires are the same and connect fine,

ive tested for a spark, the problem is that when you first press the starter switch it sparks once only, then will not spark again until you let go of the button, then re-press it again..

weve replaced the cdi, the pickup coil, spark plug, ht lead,and ht coil.. and none have helped atall. the

 

i had exactly the same problem on my aprilia sr mate it would give a spark and thats it i couldnt figure out what was wrong like for 3 month ended up going to the local garage and they said The GENERATOR was gone so changed it and i was working perfect

 

sound to me like your generator isn't functioning as it is, try buying a spare working one to test cheap as possible.

if not then i havn't a clue, if it's a mechanics job then it's not worth paying labour so might as well sell.
