ok so its my first time doing this and i was just wondering what you guys use to do this because i dont want to mess up the engine cases

ive taken absolupetly evrything off the cases other then bearings piston and crank
ive had a look at haynes manual but its advice is to buy a tool for each side of the case is this needed?
    thanks james

i did this for the first time last week aswell anyway...

lol dno if this is right (lol) but when i got everything except crank and bearings of mine, we just used a rubber mallet and smacked one side of the crank and it split. then we smacked the crank out the otherside. (assuming you undid the bolts and your replacing the crank cause it can fuck up the threads... ;))

im pretty sure you can get a bearing pulling tool thing to get thebearngs out...lol

Oh and dont jam a screw driver or owt in between em to lever them apart...or you'll probably end up fucking up the seal.

if you want it done properly, buy the tool and get reading, not worth bodging it, i learnt the hard way. cases aint cheap and its hassle swapping everything over just after youve built it all up and got ur hopes up for that perfect 'first run vid' on youtube, only to realise your bikes fucked.
