    TYPH 172
    yoo.

as some of you might know, im building a typhooon 172.. and dont really wanna use vx forks to have my gilera wheel on.

i was wondering what the doppler forks are like? i know lee had a pair.. i need to know if a gilera wheel will fit on them. they look alright for £215.

and the other part is the bgm caliper.. i see terro has one on his typh, looks quite nice.. and its the only non standard caliper i can find for sale lol.

what forks is it made for? i would want to use it with vx's initially, and then doppler or malossi forks depending on if the doppler ones are any good and take gilly wheels.

    any help appreciated ;)

The caliper is made for the stock forks funnily enough. Direct replacement for stock. It won't fit on malossi forks or vx's but should fit on the dopplers as they are supposed to be a straight fit.

As jj said you could always go for the stage6 big arse caliper but it also wont fit on malossi or vx forks.

    TYPH 172
:pale: thats what i was thinking, it looks like a typh one.

well ive already got the top braking floating disc off my gilly so dont really wanna buy a new one.. unless its that blue n chrome massive dmp one..

anyone know how much the stage6 calipers are??

i dont think ill be getting doppler forks for a few months so would prefer something which would work on any forks, so i can get malossi's if i find a cheap set

You don't have to run the 280 disk to use the big caliper? The mount works with different sized disks.

It's currently £67 for the caliper and £23.80 for the bracket. Gotta love how shit the pound is to the euro at the moment.

Use stock typh forks currently then doppler? Doppler as I said are replacement forks so fit straight on. No bodge and they fit lots of calipers.

There aren't really any calipers that fit malossi forks or vx's. The euros don't give a shit about 125's remember.

i think my disc is nearly as big as that stage6 one anyway..

did you mean £67 for the caliper? if it is i might just have to purchase it..

i would use the typh forks but dont have any lol and the frame im getting may already be cut down for vx's (had malossis on before) :pale: its free though, suppose i could get another one or use a spacer.

but that might be bodge :banghead: i dunno man, i might just sell the vx's and get the doppler forks straight away.

OOps. Yeah caliper. You need the bracket as well though.

The doppler forks aren't gonna fit if it's been modded for vx's... So proper bodge.

    oooh that looks nice..

so they can go on vx's just with a special bracket..

that i would probably be waiting 3 months for lol.

i need to ride a typh with vx forks properly to see how shit it actually is and if ill be able to live with it until i can get an uncut frame (if mines cut) i know the turning circle is SHIT with them lol.

ive got a bracket for my top braking disc maybe that would work?? looks like the same kinda thing

Most engineering places can do it for you, won't take long. My Dad usually makes things like this for me. Shiny could make you one, but yeah, have you not got the frame yet to see if it's cut?

Hence I didn't mention it.

I've got two sitting about that don't fit...

Think about it... Hows a bracket for a 125 caliper going to work with a 50 caliper? That's the problem we have for starters!

indeed the two brackets of of mr red didn't fit :cray: ,
but it is doable, just need to get one made for ya,

oh and vx forks feel funny on a typh imo,
like the fronts really high (got nrg rims too tho)
    and not carrying much weight,
then you touch the throttle the front wheel chases pigeons in the sky  :good: .

what front rim you planing on running?

you even thought about ice forks there rwu will fit your frame has the right speedo conection for a runner 125 rim and all you would have to do is have a spacer made for your bigger disc. can pick a good set up for about £50 too
or you could just use typh forks (i got a set of mint 125 ones here for sale)
