yh iv painted probs 10 n all lasted ok as long as u
get them back to metal first
degrease and clean as you normally would
    then sand then
    high build primer then sand
    then paint
    then sand
    then lacquer
i mean seriously lacquer i wellllllllllll

also m8 wen youre sandin it take of fthe sharp edge on the casing eg round the edge of the mating serfice o th block .

also another tip for the casing is paint round the inner most lip of the casing on the inside stops it cracking ect .

the only place ur likely to get anu problems then is were the bolts screw in but iv had this wiv all my powder coating.

so set them to the right torque not to tight and make sure you use a small enough ratchett some are wide and scratch the casing as you screw the bolts in

it aint a perfect finish on mine as i realy havent had much time to dao all the above steps and its not a fekkin show bike i just wanted eveything sprayed .wen i put up a project of all the prgress so far youll see y the quality aint perfect coz it ook me like 12 hours from gettin the bike to strippin casin sandin wheels strippin water cover strippin engine then painting the lot .

btw i painted/painting both wheels engine casing water cover bit the shok and some more all for 16 squid now that to me is good news. i used enamal based spray paint from wilkos thats primer 3 tins of white and a tin of lacquer for 16 squid n iv got a whole can of white i could take back left and a full tin of lacquer

its not easy to use i comes out thicker thn cellulose normal stuff .buttt with time and a hot room itlln fine and give a good finish .it takes a good 3 odd days to dry aswell after it all id only suggest a coat a day if using i eg few goes wiv primer wat a day sand clean then paint wait a day sand clean then lacquer then wait 3 odd days .but i shit u not en stuff stuff finally hardens is as thick as powder coat and very tough

IMO ALL OF THE ABOVE METHODS ARE MINE THATS HOW I DID IT IN A RUSH I MITE ADD I DIDNT EVEN DO HALF THE SANDING I WOULD USUALY .AND IT LOOKS OK

DONT SLATE MY METHODS PLEASE IF THEY DIFFER TO PROS OR YOUR OWN

    thats my disclaimer lol

    Paint lookin good Nibbles :punk:

Like the disclaimer......a man in the same frame of mind as myself. I ain't a pro but have done loads of painting over the years inc rattle cans. Your method is about the same as what I use using cans or gun

looking nice mate, just quick question do you really sand after paint again because it would ruin the paint?

    Nibbles man

we should make a rattle can guide We got perfect opportunity with
jamjams pannels and my pannels need spraying and all the shit that
    you've stated here.

I know I for one am gonna be spraying my own pannels for first time
so it would be nice if you could get one together (even if its not an OFFICIAL guide) yano to help us n00bs of spraying.

with all that i've said i do realise i can just have you to help me anyway :p
but for the benifit of others ;)

    Just realised we got one
one with pics would help..tell people what to look for
    idno yano :D

    aww well

ill get in touch with the person who made the last one and ask if i can adapt it as i used his methods to paint my bikes maybe slightly altered but ill add pics. You dint think id took over a 100 pics of me modding pans for no reason did ya lol .

im gonna make a panel modding guide hence why i havnt managed to make the carb guide yet then i was jus gunna post up the link to the painting guide .but your right ill make a pan guide from start to finish .

also was talking to jam jam about the fact if i make an accurate guide you two can do all the prep ect ect on ya own n jus refer to the guide if ya stuck then when you do the painting ill come over .

I AIM TO PUT AS MUCH INTO THE SHACK AS IV TOOK
