on two or three occasions of late I've pulled up outside my house and turned of turned of the ignition to open the gate to push it round the back and not been able to push it.ive had to start it and ride round the back.what could be the cause of this.

sticky rear brake usually the cause, tend to find the rear wheel locking up and dragging when trying to push.

I had the exact same thing, it was sticky caliper pistons. You don't tend to notice it while riding (might do on 50cc) but on my 70 I had poor bleeded brakes.

Violent braking on poor brakes caused mine, and cruddy brake pads. When I first changed my pads they looked like after 8s worn right down , so causes the piston to come out more then it wants to. That's what my machanic told me.
