hi guys, i was looking over my typhoon 50 today and noticed that there was a gap where there didn't used to be a gap! so upon looking at old photos, i realised that a part has actually fallen off! i think it was when i went down a VERY bumpy gravel road. anyways, here is the pic of what my ped looks like now: -the things circled in green are where the part was attached. -the yellow shape is roughly where the part was. -the orange thing is a tube that came from the part and attached to the standard exhaust. (although i had it just sitting there doing nothing as its not needed with the leo vince zx that i am using) -the thing circled in red is where the part attached to. i dont know where is goes. ok, so my questions are: Do i need the part? What is the part called? What does the part do? Where does the tube circled in red go to? Should i block up or leave open the tube circled in red? thanks, hazza
it's part of the cooling system to help cool the cataliser you dont need it just pull the last tube of the engine and put a rubber bung there
It's not the cataliser it's part of the cooling system to help cool the cataliser. As you have an aftermarket exhaust then it doesn't matter. You can take the whole thing off.
the pipe only goes into the tranny cover, leave it alone as it does nothing now its not connected to the exhaust, it simply pulls cool air through the transmission housing into the pipe to cool the cat and to lower the immisions from the rear of the bike (your making the same emmisions only your pushing more air out of your exhaust, sneeky ay)
thanks so much guys, you've put my mind at rest! i will just leave the tube on there. thanks again, hazza
