searched the forum and couldnt find any info on the following questions is a carb interchangeable from ped to ped? i have a polini 21mm carb can this be put on any other scooter? and my ped is 70cc if i bought a 125 variator and shoved it in what would it do because people always buy a 180 variator for a 172 engine will it increase speed or simply screw it up? and if i bought a 107mm NRG clutch (Sym scooters are 107mm) would it fit? thanks in advance
In all honest truth mate you're gonna be better off selling what you have and getting something better to tune if thats what you're going for, and going for a piaggio engined bike or a minerelli horizontal engined bike shall open up MUCH more parts choice as well as advice available. Your call really but with regards to your questions, carbs are generally interchangeable providing the fitments are the same and you may need throttle cable adjustments in the length. Variators a no-no and no idea on the clutch but if your's is fine as it is why bother?
i honestly cant be assed to sell it cos i have this in the garage: my scooter i picked up for a £100 when i was 16 and i really like scooters as they are hilarious to ride. i probably wouldnt get much for it anyway. and i have bugger all cash otherwise i would buy a gilera fx 125 and make it a 172. the reason im asking is because there is a polini evo clutch 2g on ebay for £20 :w00t: and the variator off of a sym 125 is £3 so i was just asking but thanks
dont tune anything u dont have a clue wat u are doing ,is dat 50cc or 125,wat scooter is it ,dont try change anything u will fail sell that ,,o yer vx 125 gilera a four stroke if u want to 172 it needs to be a sp/fx 2 stroke gilera or typhoon,sr or dragster ect ect
what my bike? its a 675cc mate  my ped is a 70cc and i know quite a bit about peds, i tuned it, its not much to tune but i dont really care about it that much its hardly eye candy is it..... arc: best its ever looked is below and that still doesnt look attractive, just clean, and painted some bits now sections of the black have come off and the exhaust is rusting again so.... not much point selling it, if a gilera fx came up for like £300 non runner i might be able to buy the bike but then nothing elese for like a month or two thank for the replies Sam
if you actually read the post it says, old pic now it loooks like shit; evidence: the exhaust is back to standard as of today because of my mate crashed into me and bent the shit oput of it and ripped the exhaust flange :wallbash: need to find a standard sp 125 to buy look at the paint!! all my hard work ruined fro last summer: tecniwank ruined: :blah: i dont have L plates. :bird:
