If petrol powered 2 wheeled vehicles (scooter's,peds, motorcycles) are tax classed as bycycles, has anyone ever challenged OR come up against issues, such as:- #1.locking your ride to a post or security barrier (on a pavement). #2.parking in a bycycle park. #3.being in a box,pre-lights......... #4.going on a green,on one of those traffic lights specifically set up for push bikes. #5.being in OR using a cycle lane. #6.going down a bycycle only road/lane.
The rules of the road are the rules of the road. They apply to cyclists as well as scooters (classed by DVLA as motorised bicycle). Yes you can lock your ride to a post/security barrier/lamp-post or the like providing it doesn't cause any impedance to pedestrians/civil vehicles/emergency access vehicles or cause a danger to other users. Parking in a bicycle park is normally dependent on the owners of the site in question. Check the signage first. Being in a box (junction I presume), normal rules apply to all, do not enter unless your exit is clear, including cyclists. #4 - Never come across those lights in birmingham #5 - Only if the blue sign at the side of the lane says you can #6 - As above General rule of thumb: if in doubt, DON'T DO IT
So....don't push your luck.?.., They actually have their own traffic lights up here now, that give them precedance over all other road users 1st....... .
Personally i think that comments bollocks.,motorists have had something shoved down their throats and my comment is a simple fact.
Huh? What i meant was that having lights that favoured cyclists first above all others, was discrimination.
on my tomos i go down allyways and everything, on my other bikes not so much, its funny, i live in "cycle city" (sykkelbyen) but theres no cyclepaths here and hardly anyone that cycles.... we dont even have a set if traffic lights on this island, its 45 mins drive to the nearest set of traffic lights....
