so i know that u can put a 70cc on a 50cc engine without any hassle, but why isit for a 90cc kit you need to start changing things around? im using google but i cant find anything explaining why.
i just remember reading somewhere that u need a longer crank but thats about it :confused:cratch:

The hole in the crank case isn't big enough, basically. Stud spacing also plays a part.

Think about it like this, your almost doubling the capacity it's like puting a 100cc bore on your 50.

yeah think its a longer stroke crank, so you can get the 90cc without having a massive bore.

well from standard everything. new crank, bearings, gears, variator, exhaust, carb, reeds, clutch.. and to make it fit im sure you need to grind down the crank case

You need a longer stroke crank. The cases will need to be milled to fit the 96cc kit. Lots of trouble in my opinion rather get a evo lol .

It's not actually all down to CC's. You have to enlarge the cases to fit most high end 70cc kits anyway. They have thicker skirts than other kits due to being put under a lot more stress than low end kits. Everything needs to be larger to cope with more power, more rpms, etc.

The cranks used for the big cc kits have a longer stroke and conrod than standard and are physically bigger than standard. The webs are larger and so is pretty much all of it! They even use a different variator nut.

    This picture shows it.

As lshigham said stud spacing becomes a problem as there is only a maximum size they can make the bore while keeping the original studs so they then need to add more cc using longer stroked cranks.

They go through it for the straight out bhp lol. If i'm right the 96cc evo £3660!! (I think) puts out something like 30-50bhp!

Pretty much all covered in my project.

You would have to be pretty stupid to buy a pre-built engine from a part shop. You can build a big evo engine for a lot less than that.
