ive put the 80 barrel off my sfera/typh onto my other typh as the stator went on the original 80 engine.. i had the skirt machined so it would fit in the cases and i got it on there now and just started it up. the problem is it doesnt rev, it just splutters and doesnt move anywhere ive tried the 17.5 carb off the 80 with a 82mj and its still the same, also tried moving the needle down a couple notches but still nothing. its got a zx on it.. 5.5 rollers.. 82mj and a standard airbox (modded) does anyone know why it would be doing this? any help appreciated, i wanna get it going properly so i can sell it
yeah youre right.. i took off the head today and the piston can only reach about 2cm from the top of the barrel looks like its just gonna have to be a 50 noww.
put a new type stator on the old 80 engine (done a few) just needs a new cover fan and a lil bit of the engine ground out. the length of the stroke is longer but the timing is the same..
alternativly you can machine the difference from the top/bottom of the cylinder and ajust the port timings accordingly... wont last too long tho so fuck all point really. might aswell have 2 working engines
ye corse... if tis got the diff loom connector ether find a new loom or cut it back andf wire in the original plugs... you will need a new fan and cover and a part of the engie will need removing (look at the differences in the engines to see where the wires need to go/metal needs to come out)
ok thanks for that.. thats just what i wanted to know, wasnt sure if it would work.. im gonna give the engines to my m8 for his zip, his dad owns a harley shop so we should be able to get it working with all the tools at his house lol
