I'm putting a 70cc kit on my Aerox, and I want it to be faster than the average Polini/Malossi sport setup. I CANNOT AFFORD A NEW CRANK!

I just want to know weather a Polini Corsa will be okay on a standard crank thats done 5000Km or if you think it will snap? Or I could go for a Malossi MHR Replica?

But yeah, I need to keep the standard crank.

    I will probably just do:

Polini Corsa/MHR Replica (whatever's safest on std crank?)
21mm Dellorto carb & Jets (on std airbox)
    Polini Speedcontrol

Please give me your honest opinions?

    Thanks, Joe.

if you cant afford a new crank mabey DO A FUCKING SEARCH AS EVERY DICKHEAD CHEAPSKATE OWNER ASKS THBIS ANNOYING QUESTION!!!

as for tuning your bike on a budget... dont bother, it just DOESENT WORK
save up.. do a search in the future (i dont give a shit if the search function doesent work too well, manually SEARCH through 2 pages (takes about 3 mins) and yopu WILL find what you need to find)

I'd recommend a crank! I tried the cheap way and it didn't work

Okay, thanks to Minor for his supportive and constructive comments once again :p

Can I just say that i respect this forum and do not wish to piss anyone off. i understand that I know pretty much jack shit and I am hoping that someone with a bit more knowledge will help me out.

I am very grateful for peoples advice and I have read through loads of posts concerning the crankshaft and the use of 70cc kits etc... I have, what I believe to be a basic understanding of the THEROY of how these engines work, and I have read all the guides on the "guides" page of this site.

My bike in its current state is stripped completely, right down to the bottom end. The engine/rear wheel assembly is removed from the frame and is awaiting new parts. I just want some advice as to a quick and reliable setup.

Just a note to Minor - please don't insult me. I don't wanna argue with you! I understand it must be frustrating to deal with clueless people such as myself when you have a huge knowledge of tuning scooters yourself, but I am just trying to get my ped back on the road. Everyone has to start somewhere remember.

So I'm guessing my best bet would be a Malossi Sport kit and the Speedcontrol set. Maybe a 19mm carb when the funds allow?

Thanks to everyone for reading this post, please don't think I'm just here to piss people off because I'm not :(

    - Joe.

What you going to do when your crank busts and takes the rest with it? Replace it? Do it now and be done with it. Youve been told.

hello aerox owner you should just get a mallossi kit and a sports exhaust and to avoid crank damage just try not to full throttle for a very long time and forget the carb now lol my opinion.

a sport kit should be fine on a standard crank, but too be honest i would replace it. You have been told, it's whether you listen or not.

If I didnt give a 'f#ck' about it blowing up then I wouldn't have even asked the question..

So still my question lyes... How much running in does it need?
And I take it then that a new crank is needed when buying a 70 kit, no matter how many miles the old one has done?

Its recommended that you changed the crank if its near 10,000 miles, so no

    Hello again.

Went for a Malossi Sport 70 kit and fitted it myself. First time I've ever attempted to do something so complex but it seems to have gone really well.

I kept the standard airbox but bought stage 6 filters for it, upjetted to an 88 main jet in the standard carb and its really fucking nippy. The accelleration is whiplashingly rapid and it seems to have increased my top end to around 60mph (ON THE CLOCK) so maybe 50~55mph. Keeps up with my mates fiesta 1.3 till 40 odd so i'm happy!

I'm planning on selling the rox and getting an MBK Booster for a laugh and putting an MHR Replica on it with a PROPER CRANK and a big carb.

Thanks for the advice and put downs from minor the helpfull chappy!

    - Joe
